The Americano was created in Italy by Gaspare Campari’s bar, Caffè Campari, in the 1860s. Originally dubbed the “Milano-Torino” due to the two main ingredients Campari from Milan and Punt e Mes of Turin, this low ABV (alcohol strength by volume) cocktail is a great introduction to the bitter taste of Campari.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Campari
- 1 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 3 oz Soda Water
- Orange (to garnish)

Preparation Steps:
- Combine Campari and Sweet Vermouth in a shaker filled with ice and shake.
- Using a Hawthorne strainer, strain into a Highball Glass over fresh ice.
- Top generously with Soda Water.
- Garnish with Orange Slice.
