The Americano was created in Italy by Gaspare Campari’s bar, Caffè Campari, in the 1860s. Originally dubbed the “Milano-Torino” due to the two main ingredients Campari from Milan and Punt e Mes of Turin, this low ABV (alcohol strength by volume) cocktail is a great introduction to the bitter taste of Campari.
