Born in Veneto, Italy, the Aperol Spritz is a refreshing combination of the lightly bitter orange Aperol aperitif and the chilled prosecco with soda water giving it that extra spritz to balance it out.

The original spritz was created to help wine last longer and to keep soldiers in the area who spent too much time at the bar from getting drunk too quickly. But the Aperol Spritz has seen a comeback in the last few years due to a national U.S. campaign by Aperol to promote the aperitif. Aperol Spritzes have a low ABV, so the citrusy and slightly bitter cocktail is easy to put down on a hot summer day and make for a pretty cocktail to serve guests at nearly every occasion. Enjoy at dinner, while enjoying appetizers, or even at brunch.
