We agree that more often than not, nothing beats a classic, but on the  other hand, shaking things up by toying with an ingredient or two can lead to some intoxicating combinations. The Pete’s Word recipe comes from the famous book Death and Co. by the owners of the synonymous cocktail bar. This spin on the classic Last Word features a peaty scotch that doesn’t sound like it should work, but you’ll be surprised to find that it gives the original stiff competition. 

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz Laphroaig 10-Year Scotch 
  • ¾ oz Green Chartreuse 
  • ¾ oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • ¾ oz Lime Juice

Tools You’ll Need:

Preparation Steps:

  1. Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake. 
  2. Using a Hawthorne strainer, strain into a Coupe Glass.
