The 20th Century was created in 1937 by British bartender C.A. Tuck in honor of the Twentieth Century Limited passenger train that ran between New York City and Chicago from 1902 to 1967. The train provided such a luxury experience to passengers that the phrase “red carpet treatment” was born from the way the train was boarded over a specially designed crimson carpet. This drink is named for, and a reflection of, the highbrow experience.
Although the ingredient combination can be off-putting, the drink is well-balanced. Enjoy its sweet (but not too sweet) flavors of floral, wine, and a hint of chocolate.
