The name of this gin drink may lead you to believe it was created in Martinez, California but the origins and history of this drink invite much debate and speculation. While very similar to a Martini, what makes this drink stand out is the use of sweet vermouth instead of dry. Variations of the recipe may involve adding in a few dashes of Angostura in place of orange bitters, but still with a teaspoon of Maraschino liqueur that follows the original recipe for this timeless and classical drink that is the epitome of cocktail culture.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz London Dry Gin
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • ½ oz Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
  • ½ tsp Cherry Brandy
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • Lemon Twist (to garnish)
